Most of her early works are 4-koma, and her technique of making each of the consecutive stories into a larger whole won her attention. Her stories are not limited to 4-koma magazines, she has in fact appeared in seinen magazines, josei magazines, and web magazines. The broad variety of her published works continues to fascinate readers. A couple of her manga are "Sei Koukousei" (Shounen Gahousha) and "...Sugi na Revolution" (Kodansha). (translated from Shodensha) Maya Koikeda is a pen name. Her real name is Keiko Yamada, and her pen name was created by saying backward the syllables from her real name. Koikeda graduated with a degree in art from the Kyoto City University of Arts.
